December 24th, 2020 – Is 2020 over yet? Nope, but it’s getting close. The Outlaws are also getting very close to the end of Dr. Dream. One last writing session and the vocals begin. We are very proud of this song. It turned out better than we’d even imagined in the beginning of this journey. Can’t wait to put the finishing touches on it. Then No One’s Ark begins. It’s also that time of year for the infamous Hemby/DiMaggio Christmas dinner. It’s an epic evening indeed. We hope that you all have a very Merry Christmas. As they say, Tis the Season!
November 20th, 2020 – There’s really only one word to describe how we’re feeling these days…wow! The pandemic continues. The election continues. The craziness continues. The music continues. We’re at the end of the major bulk of tracking for Dr. Dream. It was a bit of a struggle at first but it’s got a good vibe now. The documentary keeps getting better. We are heading to Georgia. Outlaws in the ATL. A strange time makes for good footage. Wish us luck and make sure to take care of yourself, loved ones and others.
September 4th, 2020 – We have begun the decent into Dr. Dream. It’s a free floating little rock jam that’s coming along nicely. I feel this ethereal bounce to it that captures our more funny and sarcastic side but also has a lot of heart in it. The ground work has been laid for Together Forever. The acoustic guitar recording starts next. The Familia documentary is starting to take form and it’s looking good. We’ve got a lot of work up ahead. It’s time for guitars and more guitars, which is never ever a bad thing in our world.
August 7th, 2020 – Well, it isn’t a boring time to be on this planet. Being around in the middle of a worldwide pandemic sure is weird. Even though things aren’t normal we’ve been busy. Just wrote a new song for the end of the album the other day. It’s a good one. Traded off some gear for a new amp. Out with the old, in with the new. Got a lot of work done on the documentary. Got a lot more work to do. Really happy with how it’s looking. Exciting things are up ahead but who knows where this road is heading.
May 20th, 2020 – Things are changing quickly right now while we slowly start to reopen. It’s quite a time to be alive. Got some good traction with the programming of the new rig. We’ve got our eyes on some really cool guitars. Riffs have been popping out lately. A new song is in the works. Got some new footage done. Life does take some twists and turns. That’s certainly true right now. Time to start planning for the future, but to quote the late, great, Jim Morrison. “The future’s uncertain and the end is always near.”
May 6th, 2020 – It’s nice to finally see the trickles of normalcy returning. The ghost town vibes are beginning to disappear. It’s been a long couple of weeks getting the new guitar rig up and running. A lot has gone into the planning and execution of said plan. Ran into a little bump in the road but all will be resolved. I find myself wondering these days am I a musician or programmer? The answer is both. The music continues. The script continues. The documentary continues. All is good.
April 28th, 2020 – As the Pandy continues lets have a safe reopening of society. We tested out some new pedals over the weekend. The mighty Line 6 HX Effects. The Outlaws are embracing the digital age. A little late to the game but better late than never. We filmed some great footage for the documentary. We have a really funny promo in the works to film. Studio sessions will resume as things return to normal. This train keeps on rolling.
April 14, 2020 – A bit of rain fell. Now the sun is shining. Quarantine continues. We did get together briefly this weekend just to hang out, listen to music, jam a little bit and watch some new footage that was shot. It’s been about a month since we’ve been able to do that due to Corona Virus. I’m currently in the planning phase for a new pedalboard setup. Also, just finished writing a song for a friend to use. It’s good to reconnect.
April 8th, 2020 – We hope everyone is keeping it together during this unprecedented time. We’re here with you. We took a few days off from the studio to shoot some footage for the documentary and handle some responsibilities around the homestead. Also, got in a new pedal but had to swap it for something better suited for our needs. Hopefully life gets back to normal soon but until then don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers.
April 1st, 2020 – It feels like spring is in the air. Hopefully the warm weather will turn the tide of the pandemic. That could just be an April Fool’s joke though. The lead vocal for Sunflower is coming along nicely. It’s almost time to start sprinkling in some extra fun bits. Got to be add another guitar part also for some added texture and movement. All is well in love and war.
